Periodical Cicadas (Magicicada sp.)  in Texas

For the first time since 1998, the 17 year cicada, should be emerging in a few Northeast Texas counties this year.  Adults were expected in late May through early June, mainly along the Red River. 

The photo shown here is from an observation in Kansas by Michael Tobler (x).
